Amazing Animal Devotions for Kids

My Big Book of 5-Minute Devotions: Celebrating God’s World
Written by Pamela and Douglas Kennedy
Illustrated by Amy Wummer
Published: 2007

My daughter LOVESSSSS animals and I was looking for a nice devotion to read with her at breakfast every morning. I found this book on eBay. We have read through it many times off and on since she was about 3 years old and now she is almost 5.

Short & Sweet: Perfect for wiggly toddlers or busy mornings, each devotion only takes five minutes with interactive questions at the end.

Nature Focused: Each story highlights a different animal not only teaching some fun facts but also teaching kids to be mindful of nature.

Adorable Art: Amy Wummer’s illustrations are bright, cheery, and full of personality, making the animals and characters practically jump off the page. We have many other books illustrated by her as well and love them. She is a wonderful artist.

Heartwarming Lessons: Beyond just facts, the book connects every "wonder" back to a simple, encouraging spiritual message about love and kindness. Every lesson has a scripture at the end.

A Peek Inside...

  • Friendly Friends: Learning about how to be a good companion through the eyes of our pets.

  • New Beginnings: Discovering the magic of growth and how everything starts small.

  • Big Wonders: Marveling at the giant, amazing things that make our world unique.

  • Busy Bees: Understanding the importance of working together and helping out.

This book has been a wonderful find. I do not mind re-reading the lessons over either. Our favorite pages are about Eggs, Polliwogs, and Frogs (see below).

10/10 — highly recommend!
